WitrynaEMD is a method of a decomposing non-stationary signal into a collection of mono-component AM–FM signals. These mono-component signals are referred to as intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). The extraction of the IMFs follows an envelope subtraction process and linear combination of all the IMF-extracted results into the original signal. WitrynaEmpirical mode decomposition (EMD) is proved to be an effective tool for the nonlinear and non-stationary signals. Many researchers have studied the application of EMD in a variety of fields. But few in-depth studies are related to the improvement of EMD. A new signal analysis approach based on improved EMD method is introduced in this paper.
