Remove the vacuum line off the valve and put a piece of vacuum line on the valve. Apply vaccuum to the valve by sucking on the hose. It is slightly larger than 1" but my 1 1/16" seems like it leaves too much room and is not a tight fit. The 1 1/16" wrench seems to fit okay on the top nut but it also it slightly large. I'm sure this size could work but with the nut being so corroded ... jesfsp
